I too was a Biggles lad. I am so relieved to find that this need not be a guilty secret and that others share this shady past. By the age of 11 or so I had moved on to Hornblower, which I still re-read from to time. But I am still very much a bit of an aviation buff, mainly WW2 but also all other periods.
Couldn't get more than a chapter or so into that cave bear thing, and the Eagle of the 9th is all a bit, well, Roman, for my taste.
Of course the classics are The Flintstones and Carry On Cleo. I can overlook the odd minor inaccuracy here and there.
