That's what is known as a rural surveyor and indeed you do get a better quality of tweed but you have to deal with pesky tenants who don't pay their rent and farming types who get up to all sorts of interesting things with your clients land. Does help if your daddy owns a castle somewhere. Wellies are obligatory along with
the ability to identify over 20 varieties of cow.

As someone who started in several different 'careers' before finding archaeology. I definately landed in the right place, at the right time at the bottom of the right pole.....
Unless of course i'd stuck with the career of a time traveller.
Though I'm working towards xenoarchaeologist.......just as exotic in my mind

Um, let's see... There's Shire, Clydesdale, Quarter, "pit", Mustang...
Having just slid down the greasy pole, I still wish I'd followed a career in carpentry instead of academic navvying!

One way of solving a problem is to change the nature of the problem - so I say we turn the greasy pole sideways and replace the grease with glue.
Then we can all go live in Daddy's castle or maybe the old lady's shoe.
