When an organisation starts talking about changing its name/title it's often seen as an act of desparation,almost as if there is something drastically wrong with the organisation itself.
I would suggest they would be better off concentrating on sorting out whatever organisational problems they have and working out how to make themselves more appealing to the many people in archaeology (of whatever field of endeavor they specialise in) who are leery of joining.
