Low pay and lowered pay

If your'e not up to very much at the moment Host, a couple of queries on the job advert front.

Can't possibly think how this one missed my attention but
have just noticed a job advert for Gahan and Long on the BAJR employment page that seems to offer less than the BAJR minimum wage. Is this because its a pre April ad? (In which case apologies for pointing out the obvious).

Meanwhile the really well paid UCL Senior Archaeologist job advertised last week seems to have acquired a £25 a week pay cut in the space of 7 days. Is that an official correction or a misprint? (Just as Outwage was about to praise UCL for well above inflation payrises as well!!)

Gahan was a pre April 4th Job advert..
though it would be expected that pay rises would be implemented with the new year fiscal year..

I don't get the UCL job though - bit wierd but it is not a pay cut... it is a lowering of the bottom end of the scale... the upper end is still the same.

The requirements fall into the category for the upper end of a Project officer Grade reponsibilities... and the lower end of a Project Manager Grade (which is relfected in the pay) though as you so rightly point out... a recent advert had it at the G6 grade totaly.

I would still run an advert such as this as the pay level reflects the responsibility required.

Next year we hope to work in partnership with the IFA and Prospect to have a large (across the board rise in overall saleries.. regrading ..... now thats a massive task, when you consider that you are dealing with Private companies, Educational Institutions, Local and National Govt bodies. each with their own scales..)

However I will phone up UCL and ask about the change, though as I said, its not a pay cut... only a broadening of the grade - in line with their salary grades.

you actually saw an advert that was a mistake the firs ttime..you must have seen it before it was changed. I now remember and we actually had a talk about it... (they did not want to fall foul of BAJR!)

I agreed that the psot was a high end PO... so the 19k starting was fine.

Will talk with Gahan to check they have raised wags.... but of course without a standardised payscheme... to tender for a job on a paylevel without knowing how mcu it will go up by each year... it does get too complicated
