Pesonally I don't see any problem with the dating of the foundation of Bergen. I also don't see any problem with the pottery dating to the date range suggested by the C14 analysis. What I would question is the boldness of the statement that all datings referred to this pottery type are 100 years inaccurate (surely not), without taking into account how long pottery could be hanging around in use and where and why it ends up dumped in a waterfront reclamation deposit.
In other words it seems to be another of those archaeological speculations that on closer examination is not quite as exciting as it supposes.....
