Last summer I almost managed to dig in Rutland, but missed it by a few hundred metres (which is as good as a mile if the Northants County archaeologist is lurking....) Still, the Exeter Arms in Barrowden, Rutland was our local pub and Radio Rutland our radio station of choice, so a Rutles anthology called 'Archaeology' is absolutely fine with me (All together now...Cheese and Onion!!)

And don't forget the post-pub Rutland Weekend Television marathons... Oh it's enough to have you pining for the bright lights of Lowestoft - home of that other comedy band The Darkness?!

Hang on Vulpes, is there something awry with Lowestoft then?
Us residents will have you know that Lowestoft is a kindly resting place of all varieties of culture, encompassing both The Darkness and the UK's earliest dated flint artefacts and we are also within sniffing distance of the Adnams brewery. As an isolated community on the edge of a morass of flat wetlands, we feel much as Rutlanders must do about Leicester, but without the diversions of downtown Uppingham!!
I understand that the next Darkness album includes a track entitled 'Who needs concrete cows!!'
