If it helps... I am currently in teh process of organising a DigCation in tandemn with a Stately Home and owners... they get the archaeology done, I get paid and get to dig great archaeology the clients get a unique experience including dinner with the Lord that also benefits the archaeology (garden archaeology at the moment)
and students get trained for free
A win win win win win experience :face-approve: Box thinking out of... the way ahead... get there before the behemoths of archaeology turn their hungry gaze on it

Left as it was, to where we are now, the only people left standing would have been MoLAS permanent members of staff and a few waifs and strays around the edges.

But this was one of the things that the red and the black book fought against becoming the norm in the commercialising edge of the heritage industry.
