In preperation for the creation of the BAJR Federation - a non-profit - free membership (with various sections requiring validation by different groups - ie AAI&S, Archaeological Divers Association etc) - and an extra zing with photos, documents, direct uplaods etc being allowed straight from your computer - not as it stand currently with this forum - then things will have to move.
This may seem traumatic, and I expect that we will 'lose' lots of people in the move, however, it will be a positive step - opening up possibilities. This Forum will remain in a closed state, as a reference to 'what was before' so all the knowledge will not be lost.
The main section will be open to all as usual - only the various internal sections wil be invite only.
This should take place in July / August .
Prior to that, everyone will get an email asking to transfer over to the new location... .. with a short 2 week lead in, to ensure a smooth transition.
SO to clarify ... to start with the Main Forum will move over to the new location with all the enhanced features we have been missing,
There will be other 'Group' aras, where specilaists can invite fellow specialists in these fields. there will be a general Federtion section as well, for federation members... the idea is to allow all heritage groups to have a location to share and communicate with each other. I have checked with Companies House about the word Federation .. and they are happy with it... and in fact, thought the whole thing was a good idea :face-approve: so even they see the need for this .

Event Calendars (including general and by group)
Specialist group areas (by invite only)
Document Repository (for useful documents - both freely available and to Federation members only)
Photo Gallery
Individual blogs
RSS feeds
and more.
