Dear David,
We?re producing a new quiz for BBC Four called ?Only Connect?.
We are looking for a team from the world of archaeology to take part.
I was wondering if the BAJR would be interested in putting a team forward or publicising this opportunity?

Here is a little more information on the quiz.
BRAND NEW BBC FOUR QUIZ ? TEAMS REQUIRED.
A brand new quiz is coming to BBC Four, and Presentable Ltd are looking for teams of three to take part.
We?re looking for teams with great general knowledge, an aptitude for lateral thinking and a keen eye for spotting connections to take part in the quiz which is presented by Victoria Coren (Balderdash and Piffle).
It?s a challenging yet fun quiz that requires teams to work well together. Expenses are paid.
Applicants must be 18 years of age or over and U.K. residents.
Anyone feel they want to lose all self resepect? :face-huh:

I had a quick "Google" but that was full of Broadband connection moans... but the BBC website doesn't say any more than they have told you.
Very mysterious....... Damn good idea though [8D]

Bajrhost - you can put me on a reserve list - good at the the lateral thinking and spotting connections - not so good at the general knowledge (and I don't have a TV so I'm terrible at "popular culture" questions in pub quizes - why is eastenders considered "Culture"? Then again I guess Streptococcus in the right light is "Culture" of sorts)

I don't have a TV either, but I've found that I can download everything I want to watch anyway, with no need to pay any license fee.
I did hear a quote along the lines of "there are things that humans do to get food, water and shelter, and everything else that humans do is culture". I'd be stumped by 'Enders as well, mind. And football questions...

I need some firm YES here.. as the application has to be in by 20th June.
Its a team of three.. (won't be me... as I am away in Septemeber)
First block of filming is in July... the finals are in Septemeber.. so you have to be available for both... as yer bound to win

I'd love to have a bash, so long as:
Rubber suits or nudity are not essential;
Dancing or other physical activity that might lead to the spilling of beer are not involved;
and
No genuine knowledge of archaeology or history is required ;P
.....on the other hand I thought the answer to the above was something about cheese!

Well, I've decided to have a go at this quiz and have got the application form from David.
If anyone else wants a go, send me a message at
chrispole@ntlworld.com ASAP as the application form needs to be in by Saturday night.
(I'm really stupid, so anyone else will look intelligent next to me!)
