Have to agree with earlier comment about VW Polo's. Nice little runners with a deceptive amount of storage space (bigger than you'd think I mean). I have a red 1990 1.3 CL number which has reduced me to penury through the repairs etc but having behaved recently it can last me a few years yet. My only complaint is that its hard to pull the chicks in. I might as well be driving a Reliant Robin van.

Obviously company vehicles are a H&S issue as much as anything else - possibly more so, as the are a hazard to many other people as well as you guys. As commercial companies the units may well require a minibud operator's licence. There is a Minibus Safety code of practice (which I have recently been handed to read, as I made the mistake of volunteering to drive one on a remote northern island). It's a ludicrous document, as so many of these things are, but gives advice on things like Risk Assessments, driver training and so on.
Asking to see risk assessemnts in the site hut and so on is all very well but sending staff out in an unroadworthy vehicle is literally criminal.
Today, Bradford. Tomorrow, well, Bradford probably.

Oi ! Ang about.... No street cred?? You aint seen my smeagle mate,Sexiest Polo on the planet! On the work vehicle side of things- if your being asked to travel in or drive a skip, tell them to grow up and refuse to get in it. As an aside, I`ve held a mini-bus license for years.Think it`s a good thing, far too many diggers at risk.....

Thankfully I've been spared the minbus driving chore as I don't have a D2 licence. Working for a County Council though, we have a pick of some rather choice vehicles. Our fleet services even gave us a brand new automatic Volvo one time. Not really the right vehicle to take down into a quarry in Herefordshire but a nice drive all the same!
