Alright, who came up with this one? It is a quote about the high number of mortuary sites and low number of habitation/activity sites in the BA and the reverse being true of the IA.
"In the Bronze Age, people died but didn't live. But in the Iron Age people lived but didn't die."
Careful, it might be hallucinogEeEe**33nnnn..

This has been bothering me. It sounds like the kind of thing Tony Robinson would say in a Time Team set piece. Please don't tell me it came from the lips or pen of an archaeologist.

OK I admit to not knowing the answer to this, but I think I have narrowed it down to a number of suspects:
Tony Robinson
Francis Prior
Julian "TV" Richards
Mr Hankey
Late addition: Sorry can I add to that list: David Oxley.
Where do I claim my prize?

I think it may well pre-date Robinson as a presenter of TV archaeology - I have a vague recollection of hearing it when I was at University (so between 1977 and 1982).

I too think that it is earlier - sure I heard/read it in the early -mid 80s
