Try your local Museum service-they usually have a good handle on who`s working where. The County/City Archaeologist will, if asked nicely, provide you with a list of contractual units that undertake work in your area. Most counties nowadays have their own Archaeology clubs/societies many of whom, take part in or run their own seasonal excavations. You will probably have to volunteer at first-as most of us did-but enjoy! Go get it...the snow and mud awaits you.......
