I'm about to start the process of revamping our leaflet. I will probably produce one for the public and one for developers.
If it were up to you, what types of artifacts/sites would you have as pictures on them?
When I look at the smiles on all the children's faces, I just know they're about to jab me with something.

Oops, sorry. They're for my HER showing what type of archaeology is around here, and one giving a brief description to small developers of why they have to do archaeology.
So, swords, axes, buckles, barrows, DMVs, people sitting in trenches. What looks best?

People sitting in trenches? presumably smoking fags. Surely you should have photos of people pointing?

I would of thought:
an ap of something spectactular say a cursus or henge
a Church and cemetary and/or a watching brief on a Church
surveying at water cress beds At Ewelme
building recording a barn
Flint tools
An obvious built structure say a corn dryer
features cut into chalk being revealed by a machine
obvious features revealed in a small development
Peter
I may be fat but I do not drive a range rover.

For the developer one, I think I'd go for something stressing co-operation and teamwork, that sort of thing. Maybe a contrived scenario showing a buidlery/developery person in a white shirt, tie and hard hat in smiling converstion with one of your team, perhaps on a construciton site (crane in background) with archaeology also going on, or your person holding as Beaker or something. Bit of Photoshop work. Crud example but I'm sure you get the drift, This Is Not A Conflict We Are Here To Help stuff.
We owe the dead nothing but the truth.
