As a cartographic aside, am I the only person who bemoans the dumbing down of Landranger maps by the replacement of the old letter labels with icons (e.g. a pint pot for the earlier 'PH')
Never understood SUD as line of sight is by definition direct...hey ho.
...and yes, don't like the icons either...almost as annoying as the ones for hotel and camping site facilities...

Nice to know the cartographer’s art is still appreciated
Keep your eyes open for the cliff and boulder symbols on the old county series and 1:2500. In the days when they were hand drawn the cartographers sometimes added a little something extra (or so I have been told) helps to hold the map upside down or at some other angle than the norm.

Think it only has OS maps for England, the rest of the country doesn't appear to be loading on my computer

make sure you have not (like i did) toggle the 1940 map... took me a while to work out where my maps were
