Getting the still-beating heart out was possible with obsidian, so maybe carbon fibre etc works too? Needs experimentation in the interests of academic research/experimental archaeology, there's probably a PhD thesis in there for someone. Any volunteers?

Actually, the bits about the 'first known spiritual practices' is part of the bumf from the group itself. What the Charity Commission said was

No but the 'principle' is the same, killing is killing, but the target locations are different. Even a wooden stick rammed up into the solar plexus can potentially kill.
To decapitate someone with a metal sword in a single blow takes a very sharp and specialised weapon and a skilled user.

Do most world religions boil down to some charismatic guy, and it usually is a guy, telling everyone he has a direct line to god or the gods?
If this is the case Mr hubbard Mr Lucas etc are in good company.
