At the risk of sounding horribly naive, don't Wessex Archaeology deserve congratulations for intent, even though the execution needs work?

Apparently so. . .
I must admit I had no trouble at all finding the palaeolithic material on their website. It was as simple as going to the front page, clicking on 'explore by period' and then clicking on 'palaeolithic'. Perhaps navigation has changed over the last week or so. As this blog entry suggests (
http://www.wessexarch.co.uk/blogs/websit...nd-explore), it's a recent shift over to a CMS and their are almost certainly kinks that need ironing out (as always).

But did you read the entries?!? I have just googled Wessex Archaeology, clicked on Explore by Period, clicked Palaeolithic and checked the first four sites (again). Good succinct reports of sites but no mention of anything Palaeolithic! I don't know what CMS kinks means but it's not an excuse for poor signposting...

I agree... though perhaps once the kinks have been ironed out - (we all know too well about webkinks!) - then the site will be up for an award.
I will close this one...
Does anyone have another site they wish to put forward?
