I have recently seen the results of a study made by the Inrap (the French, state run archaeological institute) in which they have questioned the public about their interest in archaeology. (see link below)
For the benefit of those that don't read French, the key points are that 19% said they are interested in archaeology and 24% said they think archaeological research is very useful, with 62% saying, rather useful.
What I would like to know is whether anybody has carried out such a study in the UK, and if so what the results were?
