I have been using the free GIS programme QGIS version 1.6 for lots of different things all summer and like it very much.
I noticed yesterday that there is a version 1.7 (Wroclav) out and wondered if anyone had had the opportunity to download and use it yet? If so are there any great improvements on version 1.6? Is it worth upgrading to?

Hei Bermudo...if you can hang on a couple of days until my internet service is fully restored I will post links to a whole series of useful free programmes including:
QGIS, a free AutoCad pogramme and an Autocad 'down-dater' (enables you to read modern releases of Autocad files with older versions of AutoCAD) and a free 'Photoshop' clone....
all of which have been tried and tested in the field...K

ODBC shouldn't be a problem for anyone if you understand the prinicple.....but I will play with that function a bit and see if it might be possible to do it in other ways as well
