A bit sudden but not unexpected considering the beasties age. You know that their lives are short but they do burn bright and they remind us what really matters when they go.

It's been a heluva week out there, folks. You have to love spending three days in a tent with a full encampment of Viking re-enactors who are more than happy to deal with the local yoof when they decide to invade at 3am on a Saturday night in Tamworth. Last I heard was one lad shouting, with a note of anguish in his voice ... 'Come back, you ****, I'm not done with you yet!'
Bless.
If there's a bucket of anything left that's drinkable, I'd be most grateful for anything that doesn't look/sound/smell like mead. No quaffing, either, or horns as drinking vessels.
Here's a drink to lost friends and family. My aunt passed away this weekend and I'm still not really grasping it as a fact.

I'll put another straw in Wax's bucket of Laphroaigh for you Su. Think I could do without the Vikings for that amount of time...and sorry about your aunt.
Wax, me old mucker, I can't understand people who have never had an animal in their lives. It is heart breaking when they go but life is so much more richer when we have them.

I will raise my bucket to all those who have gone ahead . One thing they don't tell you about getting older is the rapidly increasing toll of friends relatives and work colleagues who exit ahead of you, far too many this year.
Three days in a tent with Vikings !!!!!!!!!! I am sure there's a name for that

I got very excited this morning when I realised I'd received a private message and wondered who had worked out my true identitiy and was coming for me with a sheaf of badly filled in context sheets.
Imagine my relief when it turned out to be a badly worded Nigerian scam from a chap called Desmond Uwah. Anyone else get one of these?
Mind you, I still miss the ones I used to get from a fellow with a vaguely Russian sounding name, who wibbled on for pages about pyramid power.

Work. Self-inflicted! They had their own tents, though.
