unit could you just clarify how your fantasy future without local government and national archaeologists, hers, museums, curators, archives would get you any more work that you are currently getting? try to avoid bleating out your fantasy whereby anyone with a trowel in their hand and calling themselves an archaeologist is best placed to determine what and how our cultural heritage and historic environment is managed for the nation/world/community - future generations quality of life because that is insane.
If they can get you asking the wrong questions, they don't have to worry about answers

You would better ask the sun not to shine or the tides not to flow.

but melord Prentice puts my position so well:

Probably where I most differ from all you nationalists is that I think that archaeologis is done for the curiosity of the individual-the archaelogist. I dont see that "archaeology" belongs
or is of any interest to everybody whoever lived where ever or to what fantasy nation you currently think that you belong to or is paying for your existance. Where the archaeologist SHOULD be finding currency is finding/exploiting the curiosity of others not producing crap for nationalists.

Next you will saying that I invented local government and national archaeologists, hers, museums, curators, archives so that I could find work. I dont think that I have ever said do away with these-apart from Historic environment "advisors". Museums- pay me, local gov, buy what you want, national govs sell the elgin marbles to the highest bidder if you so please.

This is how this ends
Quote:Does the end of copyright mean that books or music or movies or games will die? Of course not. The urge to create is too strong in all of us, and consumers will always be willing to pay for novelty and for excellence. It may mean that nobody gets mega-wealthy any more. What it does mean for sure is that the giant dinosaurs that currently dominate the distribution channels had better learn to adapt or die. There are a lot of fast-moving little mammals in the underbrush eating the dinosaursâeggs.
like at a local council museum round your way: governemt subsidy or get real -buy and sell charge for access pay for copyright.
thats where I'am at. I would have been a bit more worried if you had pointed out that copyright was a development of patent law, which is even older
