I have to admit to being guilty of not looking in for some time, but is seems as if things have fizzled out here. Has Facebook replaced the site hut?

Certainly seems to have been a bit quiet around here lately

Yup lured away by other social media but still looking in from time to time. Do miss the forum as have to use real persona elsewhere which makes for much more considered and reined in comments

Some of us just don't bother with 'social media' (I have a life anyway, thanks), or smart phones for that matter - more chance of crossing the road without dying
Probably just a generational thing
Anyway, everyone seemed to know who I was as soon as I started posting on here, obviously too famous for anonymity

Still have a life but forced to use social media as part of networking for work etc. Will never have a SMART phone as value ability to connect with my environment. Surprisingly an awful lot of us 50 pluses use social media. Suspect in a few years the next generation will backlash against the need to be constantly "connected" especially when all those drunken posts come home to roost. Very very glad did not have social media when I was a teen

Agreed. No need to say things like 'photos, or it never happened' when you've already seen the lopsided and slightly out of focus evidence.

Maybe people are too busy to spend time on here, I know I am most of the time. What's this c***lers about Brexit causing a slow-up in the construction industry? - certainly not obvious up this end of the country!
Mind you, not complaining if the pay rises keep coming :face-approve:

Tis hard now to keep this place going, when BAJR facebook is far more ... welll immediate. 6500 members and growing. questions are answered swiftly and help is always there. it is more interactive. what you don't get is the anonymity -- and that is something I miss as well. however. Evolution. and BAJR is no different. when it started. it was all gripes in the site hut. then this forum came along. and you would wait to get home and rant on your 386 computer. then came pentiums and then the forum changed and evolved. then came facebook etc... life is about change.
But I won't kill this place yet for all the stored threads. archive and be damned.. plus for those not in teh the new social ( this was social media 10 years ago
) welcome to your comfy place

I like the sound of archiving the historic threads of Bajr. Will we have to sign up to a discard policy?

maybe we have to say something interesting for a change
If they can get you asking the wrong questions, they don't have to worry about answers
