Do you not remember ten years ago going onto sites and nobody having a clue or interest in what you were doing. The amount of dogs abuse suffered at that time has slackened somewhat largely due to the influence of this effluent show. Now i know that the show has many faults, probably too many to mention, but it has raised awareness, especially amongst the digger driver community.
What I would say is that its probably had its day and should die gracefully (or maybe not so gracefully) but lets give it some small small bit of credit for raising the profile of our dejected community.

To an extent I agree, but this has its downside too. I've just been on a site where builders were renovating a house next door. One afternoon, one of them started slagging us off loudly, because "Time Team dig up a whole f***ing field and put it all back in three f***ing days, and that girl's been working on the same f***ing drain all week" (for the record, none of us had been working on the same anything all week). People don't realise TT is to archaeology what Ground Force is to proper gardening.
