I've had a few jobs that were loosely connected with archaeology, but been lucky enough to work in it for most of my career.
I enjoy the challenges of trying to recognise (and sometimes understand) what's been going on. And there's still the 'no-one has seen this for x years'excitement too.
And I enjoy being a jack of all trades, and this is one of the few professions where you can be one of those OR a specialist, whichever suits you.
