Troll,
Not a problem - I enjoy the debate and as a consultant you get used to people being rude to you ( and especially if you are a Lib-dem candidate in a very Tory area!)
I can actually still relate to the hardship that diggers go through on the circuit and the financial difficulties there are. I even once mentioned in a speech about the difficulties faced by iterinent workers in terms of the electoral system, dental care (I now have to go private because I was not registered somewhere at the relevant time another cost) and long term medical care.
I guess the problem you highlight is a common one (in my day we had good grants and jobs in the summer) and I think tips/warnings about things like this are useful.
David how about a BAJR poll on how many people would contribute to a hardship or fighting fund for such situations.
Peter
