It was just that the thought of working for someone who thought that the job he was offering me was - by implication - rubbish that got my back up. I was also told during the interview that I would be 'expected' to work 'some' weekends unpaid!

I am still an archaeologist so I suppose I have become hardened to that sort of attitude from the people who run units.

My current boss is a very honourable exception Smile

"So does your partner have a real job?" Asked of me by an interviewer for a supervisor post at a well known unit not that many years ago...
