Yes, always difficult to explain 'value' in archaeology. That said, every feature has its price. That pit that took 3 days to excavate...Mr Developer has to pay for the d.b.a., negotiation time, site clearance, excavation, recording, post-excavation analysis, materials, curation of its material, paper, photographic and digital archive.
