Good points and ideas Kevin. We're our own worst enemies. Most outreach I see happening is talks to local arch/historical societies and the CBA regional groups. Audiences tend to be rather mature, middle class and overwhelmingly white. With yet another reminder of the horrors of racism on our streets we might think about how archaeology could engage the wider public. British archaeology should be a lesson in multi-culturalism across a long time-depth (Oh no, I'm gonna be accused of being a diffusionist now )
