If you want to have an influence, join as a corporate member with a vote.
An affiliate is not a full member and has no vote. I believe (although I stand to be corrected) that this grade is intended for people with an interest in archaeology and a wish to support the IFA, but who are not actually professional archaeologists. That clearly does not apply to you.
You and I disagree strongly about a lot of things, but I think that any institution can only benefit from strong internal debate, and I would like to see your views represented in those debates.

Quote:quote:I intend to apply for affiliate level membership. An institue that removes voting rights from certain levels of membership really does need to grow up.The idea is simple- everyone joins at affiliate level and signs up to agree to all standards/guidelines/ethics. We all stand back and watch...IFA actually does something..... or we leave-loudly.
