At least £26K per year Gilraen? For an inexperienced digger? That's quite a mark up to compensate for the lack of holiday and sick pay.
Nice idea though.
Personally, I would prefer to be self-employed. I would like the freedom to work where I like, but then I don't currently do site work. As I understand it, it's very difficult to legally be a self-employed digger. All those companies doing this as standard practice are heading for a fall if the inland revenue ever does an audit.
Perhaps anyone working for such a company could explain how they get around the situation outlined in the BAJR guide. Maybe there's a loophole I'm not aware of.
