I remember a few years back the IFA advertising a reduction in fees for hard-up members (by 'member'the IFA means any grade of corporate membership, PIFA through to MIFA). I think that the reduction covers your conference fee, although if you want to stay in Reading's marbled halls, you still have to pay the accomodation. Worth enquiring before the fund gets exhausted by all those retired professor types.
