Perhaps this could become a compulsory element in undergraduate degree courses, 20 - 40 credits a year over three years?

No mention specifically of field skills - drawing, photography surveying,etc, but I'm guessing these are covered? Also elements like selecting excavation techniques / sampling strategies to a variety of sites should be assessed...

Sounds a promising development though!
