The site is by my understanding being preserved in situ beneath the new road. Preservation in situ is preservation in situ underneath a road or not. If the site was in an arable field prior to its discovery it would surely have been in far more danger of destruction than it is now. As it is it should remain cosy and safe for future investigation under a nice earth bund.
