The local government payrise was put off until the union and the management had finished negotiations, when they settled on 2.475%. Not as much as the union was asking for, but more than the nurses got. better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick, anyway.
When this was agreed, I think in November, the rise should have been backdated until April. It is certainly possible that the negotiaions will take this long next year.
As for the attitude that people leaving a company deserve to be punished, that would make me uneasy if I were one of the ones still working there....
