Your response #2 above is a good one, however, from the OASIS website: "The ADS welcomes community archaeology projects and local societies to the OASIS online submission form."
This asks the question how the two differ? Is it all down to what groups each is being promoted to, with Open Archive aiming to be strongly pushed at the local societies, with OASIS content to remain passively receptive to contributions from same?
