The Pirates song was brilliant and should have won. What are you on about, Spain was a superb pee-take and another possible winner! I also favoured Armenia and Ukraine, for purely aesthetic reasons...
The block voting thing puzzles me as I'd have thought that most of the countries concerned would have no love for each other. Certainly while Lativia, Lithuamia, Estonia, Finland and Poland will perhaps not be fond of Russia, ethnic Russins living in some of those countries will vote for the 'mother country'. However some of the other groups have recently been engaged ina bitter civil war. The power of Eurovision for reconciliation perhaps?
So what to do about it? War is of course one option. More measured responses might include a north-west Europe block. We would have to be reconciled with Germany and France of course.
Splitting the home nations would not work. Sorry Hosty but the Scots and English will never vote for each other.
Maybe no country in any one pre-defined block should be allowed to vote for another in that block?
This needs to be resolved, or I can see another Great War breaking out.
