Seriously are you OK? I'd give up on the valium and go for elephant tranquillizer.
What exactly is there to object about in that ad (apart from the obvious that we must not in any circumstances involve the public or educate them in any shape or form, which is why my sites have lots of holes - they're not 'ditch sections' they're mantraps for those blasted interested public people types)? This just sounds like a PAS post - you know, that nationwide scheme thats now recorded tens of thousands of finds of which we might otherwise know nothing and supplies vast amounts of data to HER's, identifying sites that may need excavation in the future. Have you been in a cave for the last few years or just forgotten about it? Thanks to metal detectorists bringing stuff into PAS officers I've had digging work on several previously unknown sites.
'A bloody silly job' that doesn't 'need an archaeologist' - we get some daft statements on this forum at times but you're in the running for a prize of some sort. You need more than an admin assistant to identify pretty much any type of metal object made or imported into the country since we stopped mucking about getting flint cuts.
