Some more supporting evidence for the brothel theory please. I was digging a Romano-British structure near Hull ("Hell" would be more appropriate).The structure was located near a known Villa and a roman road passed within about 30m of the site. Around the stone structure were numerous (at a guess 30+) neonates. There was no suggestion that the small structure had been a brothel until a TV programme featured a dig (in North Africa I think) on a structure that was interpreted as a knocking shop. Bingo.Next day, this structure near Hull was being bandied about as a brothel just like on TV. For sure.
