I was watching from behind the sofa. Agreed it was exceptionally poor telly (plot/dialogue/effects/characters etc), but honestly, if it was made procedurally realistic, who would watch?
I suppose somewhere on the net, we could find communities of apoplectic cryptozoologists, wailing over Primeval and fulminating about how "walruses couldn't possibly have evolved into that form because...". I'm also reasonably sure that Louise Redknapp is much better behaved than those slappers on Footballers Wives, A&E departments aren't like Holby City and the majority of Timelords definitely AREN'T able to deflect a regeneration into a spare body part in a jar (don't get me started).
It's just telly. We can quietly get on with the real-life stuff in the accepted (if boring) manner, safe in the knowledge that a) we know better and b) nobody cares.
