I am presuming that Chiz is suggesting the misunderstanding is that if you are on PAYE you CANT claim back expenses against tax.
That of course is wrong. Legitimate expenses can be claimed by both employed (PAYE) persons and the self-employed. When I was last employed (PAYE) in the UK I claimed tax back on books, travel, laundry, working clothes and tools.....oh and IFA subscriptions.
