Well if it gets passed by this EGM of the IfA, the standard will still be in a 'trial period' for a year I think before being finalised. I would hope that any issues arising from its implementation, custom and usage could be addressed before its full acceptance as an IfA standard in 2013. Personally I hope they can bring it in but drop the 'IfA or RAO only' clause. I still think that is an area where the IfA needs to discuss and reach agreement across the broad spectrum of UK archaeological practice and to take an 'us only' view to my mind is less than useful...
