I completely agree. And they can advise on lots of things, not just pay and conditions. And the more people they have the stronger the case for them taking on some of the really appalling problems that people are having. Plus they offer free training and personal support.
The only reason I'm an ex-member (actually of IMPS, which is what they use to be) is that when I became a 'boss' they felt it wasn't really appropriate for me to stay in, but I continued to have regular contact with them to ensure that decisions that we made were appropriate.
