On the bright side though, we in England and Wales will have plenty of spare time in which to make the adjustments necessitated by the forthcoming Heritage Act.
In Scotland where such fripperies are (rightly) deemed unecessary (if it ain't broke etc), they'll presumably get on with doing something truly useful such as Scotlands Rural Past or the Bute survey while we faff around rewriting laws so that they do much the same as before. Hmmmm.... Passes the time though eh?
If confused, write to hprt@english-heritage.org.uk and ask them why your house isn't going to be listed anymore.
