I knew that the "My dog's got no nose" joke was old, but I didn't realise it had potential medieval origins!
I found a crisp packet in a Roman Drain under 2m of strat (brought in by Rats as the drain was still viable), and got all nostalgic about finding a "Marathon" wrapper in an engineers' test pit dating from the mid 80's. Best find ever was a realistically-moulded rubber section of female anatomy, complete with battery attachment and pump, in the overburden on a building site in Reading. I didn't have the nerve to put it in a finds bag though...
