future discussions on reburial will include people willing to listen to each other with open hearts.
Could not agree more... spiritual poverty ... not something I suffer from myself. But then I don't claim an exclusive right to talk for the people of the past.
As a matter of interest.. as each society in the past (and indeed within the society) had different ways of dealing with the physical remains, would the reburial take place dependant on age of burial, social standing and or location within the country.. or would you just impose a single ritual on each - in as much a disrespect on the individual as anything... or will I expect that everyone in the past had a generic religion that strangely resembles modern druid practice?

Murder, theft, rape and slavery are not and never been practised solely by Europeans, trad or otherwise: sadly most known human populations are guilty or have been at some time in their past. If it is a result of the discovery of new worlds (a mutual discovery, arguably?) how is it post-colonial?
I'd also say that the quest for knowledge, either personal or collective, could be tantamount to a form of spirituality, but is certainly one of the things that makes us human, and to me at least could almost be described as sacred. To sacifice this, a source of knowledge, to a "belief system" would be an act of vandalism, tantamount to sacrilege.

Oddie ignored the murderous aspects of Druidism I see.

Is that because you're being challenged on issues that you're uncomfortable with?

Not at all. In tarot, 13 is the number of the ancestors and this is page 13. O

Are you saying that there are only 13 ancestors? 13 is also the number of the bus I used to take to work. Its also the number of my old house. I also have 13 smarties left in the tube and have so far this week swatted 13 flies.
Oddie, not wishing to be rude but your last post makes no sense whatsoever and if all dialogue was closed once it had reached a certain number of pages, the world would be in one hell of a mess. I`m sorry, I just don`t follow your argument.[:0]
