Revision gratefully noted, but the text of the ad gives the dates in words as 19 June (para 6) and 7 July (final para) respectively.

Orky, as to the veracity of the rumour, with the exception of the nationalities of the archs, the rest of the quote tallies with what my friends have said about the job. The OT started from the very beginning, so not a case of unexpected discoveries requiring a bigger team than planned. The quote came from no less an authority than the overseeing curator!
PS Hosty, you know about this one. Its rate is at the bottom of the pay band.

It is worth remembering that 69 hours per week is considered standard on pipelines for all employees - archaeologists included. The archaeological employers may call it overtime to entice people in or give themselves greater flexibility in the rare event that nothing much turns up. Regardless, the client would be expecting 69 hours from the start of construction.

There may be some confusion here. The job advert in question is posted by PCA (Lincoln). The basic level of pay will be £300 for digging.
One person, a student, has been offered a position at a lower rate but this is not a digging position.
So far, no information has been sent out to people who have applied for Technician or Site Assistant posts so I am confused by Mattockhead's comments; perhaps confusing us with PCA Ltd?

I had hoped to respond to some of Mattockhead's other comments privately but he/she/it hasn't any contact details on the profile.
You may, or may not, be impressed by what we are offering. If not, don't apply. The £50 bonus is intended to cover travel costs from diggers based in the region, not tempt someone from further afield to rent a second propery.

Mercenary I know the rest of the article was correct but the nationalities are wrong, they should have mentioned Cypriots as well as I am Cypriot.
Will glady correspond privatly if you wish to discuss further.

Indeed Mattockhead has been banished... his actions on this list have been less than AUP expects. Already a private warning has been given... due to the serious breach of the AUP that Peter Wardle managed to remove.. I have no other option other than to delete his membership. On my return from Spain I will be contacting him directly, where he can explain his actions.
There can be no excuse for this - and hoping to provoke me to remove him has indeed had the desired effect. The IP address has been logged.

I am getting very close to closing this entire board.
