Troll,
No need to read for me - just advertise elsewhere, and (assuming I spot the advert!) I'll respond under my own name to offer a paper.

Is there any chance that this conference could near a town or city with an airport? Glasgow springs to mind as just about the most accessible place in the country right now. Its not that York is a bad place, but all those hours on an overpriced train from everywhere else in the country are already putting me off attending. Whereas 50 mins from Norwich airport at less than ?30 each way sounds just dandy...Surely somone at GUARD must know of an empty lecture theatre for a day?
Or alternatively can anyone suggest a venue in Cambridge? (given its close proximity to Stansted, equally friendly for the air traveller and train journeyers in Midlands, East Anglia and London regions).

I have been discussing details with troll, and York is by no means decided as a venue yet. I know its not a particularly easy place to get to other than by train. Would you be willing to make enquiries about venues in Glasgow? Leeds Bradford airport is not bad for York, but other suggestions would be very welcome

Sounds good-never been to Scotland, do I have to try deep fried pizza?
Mr Hosty-hope Jerash is suddenly blighted with frost, hailstones, snow and horizontal rain! Not really jealous in the slightest...may the fleas of a thousand camels infest the testes sire!
Can`t wait to slop about in my clay lined water features tommorrow morning. Endless hours of bucketing before I can even see the bloody features. Bet you any money I could find more pot on a student`s carpet..... What are you getting out there sire?

I believe Cambridge Univ Arch dept has lecture rooms available for local/national groups. Alternatively, in the spirit of the digger couldn't we find a pub with a large function room (no need for people 2 disappear 4 lunch)
