You were lucky, one I worked on the first door-step salmon butties came round at 9.30am! Spent the rest of the morning trying to get in the right frame to do justice to the 5 course lunch....couldn't believe we got paid as well

The food is absolutely fabulous, and I've never felt the archaeology has suffered due to the TV format.

I did once, though, slip in the back of a shot with the express intent of recording a section, so anyone playing the drinking game would be forced to down a bottle of whisky }

On a sadder note, I did get through a card today with the programme air dates. The season will be split with the last six shows in the Autumn. The front also had a pic of Tony pouring pennies into a wheelbarrow with "Time Team Season 17 - worth every penny" written. I remember at the time they were talking about budget cuts for the show. Looks like its future isn't guaranteed, which would be a shame

whats the drinking game, do you have to drink if you see any recording? Or are there key phrases as well, like "I think we've got a wall here!" "what's your best find", etc.

My favourite ones are the ones where Stewart Ainsworth solves everything/changes everyone's previous interpretations/brings up a load of more interesting research questions with landscape analysis.

not supposed to dig until you've sorted out what question your dig is going to answer. Preservation in situ being the modern mandate.

} I'm fond of doing that too! The Holderness plain in east yorks and South Yorkshire are great places to dig.
