Sixteen Tons? It's about mining I know but "You load 16 tons and what do you get? Another day older and deeper in debt" always comes into my mind while shovelling dirt onto the spoilheap.
Also ... I'm rubbish at doing links but if you put "Indiana Jones and the song of theme" into YouTube you get a little gem!

1. No Diggity - Blackstreet (a recession anthem)
2. Car Wash - Rose Royce (its better than digging a ditch)
3. The hole in the ground - Bernard Cribbins (industrial relations)
4. Chicks dig jerks - Bill Hicks (on-site romance)
5. Troglodyte (Cave Man) - The Jimmy Castor Bunch (going way back, back into time)
Listen to them here...

I Got Spades - Backyard Babies
Deep in the Hole - AC/DC
Dont Ever Cross A Trowel - Maylene and the Sons of Disaster
Monolith - Stone Sour
History - Tenacious D
Also anything bands like Soil, Soilwork, etc would seem appropriate as well was Turisas (a Viking themed band) or Viking Skull

Ok, don't think anyone's mentioned this yet, but I DEFINITELY find that the perfect Archaeological soundtrack is Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer !! :face-approve:
