I used to have terrible nightmares about being trapped in a rabbit warren with the Pope.
My Doctor diagnosed it as a classic case of 'Papal Tunnel Syndrome.':o)

Late to the party, but hey. Symptoms of CTS in both wrists, though never had the nerve tests done. Basically I'm chicken as I don't want to be referred for the op - I've known several people who've had it and it hasn't helped. Mostly it's not too bad, especially since I scored the desk job, but usually I wear supports on both wrists at night otherwise I can't sleep. But eventually I suppose I'll have to have the proper tests :face-crying:

not what you get when dreaming about your priest?
If they can get you asking the wrong questions, they don't have to worry about answers

Good news is that the doctor downgraded my CTS to repetitive strain ... no jokes ladies and gentlemen!
I wear a wrist support at night, but felt better to find out. Am off to a physio - and will just learn that I am not as young as I used to be. Look after your bodies people... and if you think something is wrong... get it checked. Still hurts. but no operation...

can't trowel for **** .
problem with trowels is that it leads to artritus of the wrist and dry tendons. I have sometimes had my tendon make a
creaking noise. Now I mainly use one of those wolfgarden tools, which they dont seem to make any more, because it mainly involves a pulling action which is a bit like hoeing. I dont care to trowel for ****. As for the rest of your list
I find it sorely lacking in understanding of the logerithmic response of eyes to contrast. To put it most simplisticly dig with your back to the sun. I can only wonder at what you have missed....(VAT)
and thank you for agreeing with me chiz
I think that Cartoons observation

should be taken further and trowels banned. Presumably curators would stop you from doing field work if you didnt have a trowel?

its not so much bad work man blames the tools, its give somebody a tool and they think that they are a workman. The hand and wrist tendons are extremely complicated, constant troweling is bloody stupid. This thread proves that trowels cause RSI. They casue arthritus as well. Put it in your risk assesment. What we need is some medical assement showing what wrong with troweling.
