Do you know how long the Vinca fieldwork is going on for this year?. I may be visiting Serbia for a few days, staying in Beograd and it sounds like an interesting site to visit

The dig starts on the 1st of August at vinca with everyone camping etc i am staying at least 30 days but professor nenad tasic says i can stay as long as i like ,so im unsure as to how long its for but i think i remember the alumni saying it lasts around 3 months.if you wish i can pm the professors contact details to you if it would be of help to you

you have made my day again david,I have been looking for any information videos and related items on vinca and this video you have placed on here says it all ...it is a fantastic dig site and in my view vinca is the best site in europe and it is severly under funded,I know that Professor Tasic welcomes any help he can get on the site and i would advise anyone to simply look at the videos and they will see why i wanted to help there and i am over the moon at the prospect of it all.

another little bit of news for everyone train workers working around the kalemagden fortress/castle in the centre of Belgrade were replacing the rail lines and building a new rail system and they stumbled across a large roman site 1 metre below the rail track system and it appears to a big find....the problem is what will the serbian goverment do as they planned the new rail system at great expense and this discovery blocks a big part of the rail network ...if i find out more details i will let you know
